Al Baleed Beach Project An Attractive Tourist Destination

Muscat: The Al Baleed Beach Project represents a substantial endeavor within the Wilayat of Salalah, inaugurated by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Al Baleed Archaeological Park. This project serves as a comprehensive avenue for families, encompassing citizens, residents, and tourists alike, particularly during the Khareef season, which witnesses an influx of tourists from both within and beyond the Sultanate of Oman, notably in the tourist season.

This initiative, deemed a commendable contribution to the tourism sector within the governorate, encompasses a 1,200-meter pedestrian walkway spanning a suspension bridge, alongside eight cafes and restaurants that offer panoramic views of the sea.

In a statement, Ali bin Salem Al Kathiri, the Director of the Frankincense Land Sites at the General Directorate of Heritage and Tourism in Dhofar Governorate, highlighted, “With the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism's dedication to leveraging heritage components and empowering the local community to ensure their benefit and to foster a permanent partnership with them, a strategic investment agreement was signed with the Royal International Company. This agreement aims to rejuvenate cultural heritage sites as part of its objectives in cultivating a sustainable tourism sector.”

Haitham bin Salem Al Hadary, the proprietor of the investment company, emphasized the significance of the Al Baleed Beach project for the region's development, underscoring its ability to boost both economic and social vitality, offering a captivating environment for citizens, residents, and visitors to engage in shopping, dining, and exploring the various facets of the project accessed via this bridge.

The Al Baleed Beach project is distinguished by its architectural innovation, featuring shops and restaurants suspended above the sea, thereby providing a unique and exceptional experience for visitors.

Moreover, Al Hadary stated that the initial visitor numbers for the Al Baleed Beach project have confirmed its potential to significantly attract tourists, thereby benefiting the community and elevating the region's status as a distinctive tourist attraction. The upcoming phase of development is anticipated to include further additions aimed at attracting diverse demographics, thereby enriching the project's appeal to a wider audience.
