Al-Alatta Neighbourhood Project Launched In Al-Khabourah

Al Khabourah: A ceremony was place on Wednesday in the Wilayat of Al Khabourah, North Al Batinah Governorate, to celebrate the opening of the first phase of the AlAlatta Neighbourhood (Hai AlAlatta) project.

The initial phase of the project cost OMR1. 6 million and included 35 standard houses with a total area of 272 square metres.

The facility, which is designed to provide shelter for families whose houses were damaged by previous climatic events, has a variety of contemporary solar energy units and water purification systems. It embodies the idea of eco-friendly lodging and sustainable community housing.

The inaugural ceremony was hosted by Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and attended by Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development, Mohammed Suleiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, government officials, and representatives from supporting institutions.

Al Kindi characterized the project as a paradigm for cooperation between government agencies, commercial enterprises, and civil society groups.

He also said that AlAlatta Neighborhood represents the concept of solidarity and collaboration to help families impacted by previous natural calamities.

The project, supported by the Dar AlAtta Association, is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, the Office of the North Al Batinah Governorate, and private organizations.

Maryam bint Issa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of the Board of Dar Al Atta'a Association, stated that the initiative is part of the campaign "From the People to the People," which saw extensive participation from all societal levels.

She also stated that the creation of an integrated neighbourhood was an objective that Dar Al Atta'a hoped to achieve, based on the premise that housing is the cornerstone for a stable and secure life.

The opening event also honoured individuals who helped with the project in appreciation of their efforts in constructing the facility. The participants took a tour of the area and praised the project's execution, as well as the incorporation of services provided to families.
