"A Very Satisfying Win": Rohit Sharma After Leading India To Historic Third Champions Trophy Title

India captain Rohit Sharma expressed his heartfelt appreciation to fans for their steadfast support throughout the Champions Trophy 2025, following a decisive victory that he described as "very satisfying."

India made history by clinching their third ICC Champions Trophy title with a dominant four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final held in Dubai on Sunday.

This triumph marks India as the first team to secure the ICC Champions Trophy three times, reinforcing their status as a powerhouse in international white-ball cricket.

"I want to thank everyone who came out to support us. The crowd was incredible. Although it wasn't our home ground, they made it feel like one. This win is very satisfying," Rohit stated during the post-match presentation.

He highlighted the pivotal role of India's spinners in achieving this victory, commending their performance under pressure. Rohit specifically acknowledged Varun Chakravarthy for his significant contribution in turning the match in India's favor.

"From the start, our spinners faced high expectations, but they never let us down. Their performance was crucial, and we capitalized on it. Our bowling was consistently strong," he remarked.

"He brings a unique skill set to the team. On such a pitch, having someone like him is invaluable. He may not have started, but when he came in, he took wickets, which was fortunate for us," the captain added.

Rohit also commended KL Rahul for his poise in tense situations, particularly in guiding the team to victory.

"[KL] has a very strong mindset and remains unfazed by pressure. He played a key role in finishing the game for us. His ability to choose the right shot in critical moments allows the other batsmen to play more freely, like Hardik," he noted.

Rohit Sharma, the captain, was instrumental in the victory, scoring a crucial 76 runs that secured him the Player of the Match accolade. With significant contributions from Shreyas Iyer and exceptional displays from spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav, India asserted their dominance throughout the match, ultimately clinching the trophy.

In his closing remarks, Rohit expressed his gratitude towards the fans, highlighting the encouragement their presence provides to the team.

"I am very thankful for the fans. Their support means a lot to us. It might not always be visible, but their attendance truly makes a difference."
