14th Edition Of International Tour Of Oman 2025 To Kick Off On Friday

Muscat: The 14th edition of the International Tour of Oman 2025 is set to commence on Friday, February 7, 2025. This prestigious sporting event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in collaboration with the Oman Cycling Federation.

The tour will feature five stages traversing the diverse terrain and stunning natural landscapes of the Sultanate of Oman. It is scheduled to conclude on February 12, with participation from 18 international teams representing Europe, Asia, America, and Australia.

The event will kick off with the "Muscat Classic" race, beginning at the Wave Muscat. Competitors will journey through various tourist attractions that showcase the beauty of Oman, moving towards the Sea Road in the Wilayat of A’Seeb, navigating the mountain roads of Al Amerat, and returning to Darsait. The race will then proceed to Al Wadi Al Kabir, heading towards the villages of Yiti and Qantab. The route will take a left turn at the Al Bustan roundabout, culminating this 171-km race in front of the State Council.

The Muscat Classic, recognized as a first-class one-day race in Asia, will award the winner with 125 points in the global ranking.

The Tour of Oman consists of five stages, with the first stage commencing on Saturday, February 8, from Muscat College in the Wilayat of Bousher. This 170-km stage will finish at Bimmah Sinkhole in the Wilayat of Qurayat. The second stage, covering 203 km, will begin on February 9 in front of A’Rustaq Fort in the South Al Batinah Governorate and will conclude at Yiti Heights in the Muscat Governorate.

The third stage, measuring 181 km, is scheduled for Monday, February 10, starting from the Wilayat of Bidbid in the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate and finishing at Al Jabal A’Sharqi Mountain in the Wilayat of Al Hamra.

The fourth stage of the event, covering a distance of 181 kilometers, is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, February 11, at the Oman Across Ages Museum located in the Wilayat of Manah within the A’Dakhiliyah Governorate. The stage will conclude at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in the Muscat Governorate.

The fifth and final stage, measuring 139 kilometers, will take place on February 12. It will begin in the Imtti area of the Wilayat of Izki in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate and will finish at Al Jabal Al Akhdar Road, also in A’Dakhiliyah Governorate.

This information was disclosed during a press conference on Monday, attended by members of the Tour of Oman organizing committee, including Saif Saba’a Al Rashidi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Cycling Association, Hisham Juma Al Sinani, Director General of Sports Care and Development at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and Haitham Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
